Rome, Italy: Study + Internship Program
Spend a summer in the unforgettable capital city of Rome, Italy with AIFS! Study a variety of academic course options while gaining global work experience by completing an internship, earning credit through Fairfield University.

The AIFS Global Study Center is centrally located in Rome’s historic center in a beautiful building in Piazza Sant’Andrea della Valle. Choose from a range of course options offered at the Global Study Center to compliment your internship.

Students wishing to undertake an internship placement can choose a 7-week Study + Internship Program which consists of a 3-credit course on the Traditional Academic Program chosen from those listed for Session 2 plus a 3-credit internship course and accompanying 7-week internship placement for a total of 6 semester credits.

The program offers a guaranteed internship in your desired career field, award-winning professional development program, résumé, cover letter, and interview prep, on-site orientations, full-time local staff and 24/7 support, LinkedIn profile coaching, and post-program career development toolkit.

The internship provides students with the opportunity to gain experience in workplace settings and to translate classroom learning into practice. It is a substantive career development experience with the intent being for the student to be exposed to business ideas and concepts while being mentored. 

Cultural and social activities include: 
  • Guided city walks
  • Visits to museums
  • Wine, pizza and gelato tastings
  • Opera, ballet and musical performances
  • 2-day excursion to Florence
Optional excursions include a: 
  • 3-day trip to Venice
  • 3-day trip to Sorrento, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Naples and Capri
